Left to Right is Gloria and sister Gretchen with Judy Bice Walker and her husband Gene.Every time I think I have seen it all and their will be no surprise on this visit I am surprised! I have never been more surprised and thrilled than this visit. Gretchen was so gracious to invite me along on her visit with the Walkers. I had the privilege to meet her sister Gloria and I thought I would be meeting the Walkers for the first time. NOT! As soon as I saw them we all said, "I know you!" I did know them and they knew me and I just did not know it! Who knew!
So we are discussing with Judy her family. Judy's mother and father were Sarah and Oscar Bice. Sarah Irene Penney (her mother) was the daughter of James Thomas (son of Christopher Columbus Penney, son of Miles and Sallie Penney) and his wife Nancy Louvina Jackson. We do not have much info on the Bice family so this was an opportunity to gather information and make sure they are represented on the family tree. As we are chatting, Gene, happens to mention he is related to the Penneys and that his mother was Ruby Parrott (her mother was Sarah Penney daughter of William and Celia). It did not occur to me until about an hour later when it hit me like a lightening bolt, I said, "OH MY GOSH! WE ARE RELATED!" I said, "Do you know who you are?" He laughed and assured me he knew who he was. I did not go prepared to find that out. The good think was I went back the next day and Gene and Judy shared with me some wonder family stories and pictures that I will be sharing with you!
