How Three Finger Got His Nickname - Shared by his Grandson Eugene Crawley

This story was shared by Eugene Crawley grandson of Three Finger John.

John P. Penney worked in the coal mine as most did in the community. He was a mine car driver and lost his finger when a car came off the track and cut off 3 of his fingers.

John kept his fingers in a jar of vinegar on the shelf until his death. The story goes he liked to tease his grandchildren with them.
