Inez and Ernest Crawley (Inez is the daughter of John and Isabelle Penney)

Photos courtesy of Gene and Betty Crawley.
Inez (04/29/1901 - 11/18/1988) was the daughter of John and Isabelle Penney. She married Ernest Crawely. Together they had 4 children. Ernest was a miner and had his pick of where he wanted to work because he was such a great baseball player. He would play on the Company Mine Baseball Team. His nickname was Felix (after the cat) because he was so good.

These are the 4 children of Inez and Ernest Crawley. From left to right are Ellis, Gene, Mildred and Norma. This photo was taken in Harland, KY where Ernest worked in the mines. The family left Harland around the early 1930's when Inez called her father, John, and brother's, Wilson and Dave, to come and move the family when the violence in the mines broke out. They all loaded what they could into cars and left everything else and moved back to TN.

This is a photo of Inez and Ellis and their children from left to right Gene, Mildred, Norma and Ellis.
Ernest broke his back in the mine and spend the last 30 something years of his life in a wheelchair.
